Good morning to you all and I will like to share what I have learned so far in chapter four. I have learned that the Bible is not like any other book and that the reason why poeple fail at Bible study is because they are not spiritually prepared to study the word of God. The Bible is like a door which leads into the presence of God and behind that door are great spiritual treasures but I must have the key to unlock the door in other to explore this spiritual treasures. A prerequisite is something you must do before you can do something else and if I want to understand the Bible I must first of all know the Author of the Bible which is God and then be born again. New birth is a spiritual birth which comes through faith in Jesus Christ. By confessing I am a sinner, believing in Jesus death, asking for his forgiveness of my sins and accepting him as my personal Savior.
God has provided me with teachers who are believers in the church to explain God’s word and guide me unto spiritual maturity and He has also provided me with a special teacher which is the Holy Spirit. God’s word is divided into 2 levels which are;
* The Milk level which is the simple truths that even a child can understand, such as the plan of salvation.
* The meat level refers to a deeper spiritual truths which are not so easy to understand.
To conclude, for me to move from the milk level to the meat level I must desire the milk ( 1Peter 2:2 , I must be Obedient to God’s word by putting his what into practice and lastly I must search for the meat by putting more spiritual effort (proverbs chapter 2 :1-5 ) and knowing all this I have to set a special time for studies, select a special place for studies that will be free from noise and interruption and starting it in a special way by praying for each study session.
Father help me (us) as i continually obey your word, Desire the milk and search for the meat in other to know you more and more.
Amen! Wonderful reflection and summary, Oscaline. May the Lord help you as you commit daily to the study of his word. We cannot succeed as Christians if we do not make the Word of God a priority in our lives. In addition to studying the Word, we must be fully committed to obeying every instruction God gives us daily. This is how we’re victorious.
