In Chapter 13, we were looking at studying the Bible by paragraph method. We saw how sweet it is.
In Chapter 14, we will go more deeper to understanding the Bible. We will look at how to study the Bible through verse study.
In this chapter I have learn how to study a single verse in detail.
First of all I have learn that, each verse of the Bible must be interpreted within its context. The context is the surrounding verses that is “before and after ” verses where the verse being study is located. The context gives a complete message from God of which one verse is only part. A single verse should not be taken out of context and misinterpreted. Because within the context you will discover verses related to the one you have selected for study. They will add more information to the verse I am studying.
And most at times the verse you are studying may relate to verses in another book of the Bible.
I have learn to always study a verse within its context and to always study related verses.
To better understand a theory or concept in the Bible, we need to study the Bible step by step . From the overview of the Whole Bible, to a Book, to Chapter, to Verse and even a Word.
