Knowing God’s voice
Chapter 1: Knowing the voice of God
The title indicate that there’s a God who communicates with his children; they there’s a man who can listen and recognize the voice of God. This reveals that God has something to say and man should come to him with a spirit of readiness, to listen to him.
This is very imperative be aise, there are many voices in the xorld- the voice of man, the voice of satan , the voice of self and the voice of God.
The voice of God reveals God’s will to his children.
The voice and the will of God for men reveals his general plan for man’s life, his guidance, in specific decisions etc.This involves intimacy with God because you can understand a man who’s not your friend.
When God speaks, it presents itself in two ways:
* The written word which is called Logos in Greek and the life giving word called Rhema.These two must agree when God speaks.
There are two listeners:
– just listeners
– those who listen and apply the word. These listens are illustrated in Mathew 13:1-9 as seeds: falling on the wayside, stony places, thorns and on fertile ground.
