Chapter 10: Training leaders and followers .
Luke.6.40 – A student is not greater than the teacher. But the student who works hard will become like the teacher.
Leaders must have followers and followers must have leaders.
I have learn from the previous lessons that God gives to some believers special gift of leadership. Others are born with natural abilities to lead. But everyone is called to be both a leader and a follower. Whether naturally talented or gifted by God,leaders and followers need training.
Each believer should be trained to be a follower. Many of us do not want to be followers. We would rather be leaders. But a good leader is first a good follower. A good leader is always responsible to someone else, so he is also a follower. We lead successfully by following successfully.
NB
Not everyone is called to a leadership position in church, but each person leads in some way from time to time.
A believer may not have a spiritual gift of leadership but because of needs in the church may find it neccessary to fill a leadership role occasionally. For these reason all believers should be trained in leadership.
