Chapter One of INTERCESSORY PRSYER.
I have learned that Prayer is comunicating with God and it occurs when a man talk with God and God talks with man. Prayers can be described as;
* Crying into God
*Looking up
* Lifting up the heart
*Crying to heaven, e.t.c
Prayer is not just talking but it involve listening and God respond through his Written word or by a still small voice which seams to speak to my heart and some times he gives vision. Some postures while praying are; Standing, Bowing, kneeling, lifting up hands. There are 4 levels in which prayers are being answered which are;
* Immediately at times – Isaiah 65:24
* Delayed at times – Luke 18:7
* Different from our Desires – 2 Cor 12:3-9
Beyond our expectations – Jeremiah 33:3.
Further more, Prayer was very important to our Lord Jesus so it has to be important to me (us) as well and I have to make prayer my priority and let it be the first thing I do in events. There are 3 levels of prayers which are;
* Asking , which is the very first and it’s presenting a request to God and receiving an immediate answer.
* Seeking , here is not as asking which is been answered immediately but you seem until the answer comes.
* Knocking; here the prayer is persistent when answers are longer.
Types of prayers are;
* Worship and Praise
* Commitment
* Petition
* Confession and Repentance
* Intercession.
Prayer is such a powerful thing for the believer. Men ought always to pray and not to faint! In the face of fierce adversity, there’s need for praying men, and a praying Church. We have a responsibility to pray, first as a life practice of relationship with the Father of creation, then as a means of getting our needs met and overcoming the enemy. When we pray and have to wait for God for a while, it is even more exciting as our faith finds occasion to take on new dimensions.
May the Lord make us a praying people in Jesus’ Name!
Now prayer is in twofold that means you talk to God and He talks back to you … When praying you must listen God’s speak back to you and Him talking or giving us the answer is different from our thinking and desires, it might delay, and as well as imidiately .. therefore let’s keep on asking in times of need, seeking Him in all aspects of life…
And keep on knocking when there seems to be no way
