Chapter 2: Enlisting in God’s army.
You can’t be in a neutral space in a battle. You must be part of a group. And if you must be on the winning side, you must join God’s army.
The first step is to repent from your sins, turn away from them and be converted or changed or transformed.
Repentance is valuable for your walk with God because:
– God requested it, it helps to avoid spiritual death, it’s necessary for eternal life, forgiveness, it’s God’s desire for all, it’s why Jesus came to the world and it’s a prerequisite to enter heaven.
Conversion – turning away from sin or abandoning sin means to turn from darkness to light, from Satan’s power to God, from worldly things to spiritual things, from false Gods to the true and living God.
It’s important because, it accompanied repentance, it preceeds your entering heaven, it saves you from spiritual death and blots out sin.
When you have a right relationship before God, you are justified and you are saved.
In summary: repentance +conversion=justification and salvation
