In Chapter 18 we saw how to study the Bible theologically and in this Chapter , I will love to share how we can study Bible poetry.
Chapter 19: studying Bible poetry. When we want to get a better understanding of a book, we always study the way the book is organize. The same goes when we study the Bible.
Most of the Bible is in narrative form which present God’s Truth in stories which are easy to understand.
The five books of the Bible which are organized in poetic form are
Job
Psalms
Proverbs
Ecclesiastes
Song of Solomon.
Reasons why i should study Bible poetry is because, the poetic form of presenting God’s Truth is different from narrative form used in most of the Bible.
Bible poetry is also different from most forms of peotry with which I am aquainted.
The poetry of the Bible is written in the form of Hebrew poetry since most of the old testament was written in Hebrew.
